Art for a Cause was started by CEO and founder Cherie Cardin in 2011 as a way to collaborate with human and social organizations to create wealth and prosperity across the planet.
We focus each month on a different type of organization to spread the word and the abundance! This month our efforts are towards the relief efforts in Japan with the American Red Cross.
Our organization started from a tiny grassroots effort in the Puna district on the Big Island of Hawaii. Cherie Cardin has been an artist for over three decades, and hopes to be a humanitarian philanthropist. Every year, hundreds of organizations ask her for donations for their fundraisers. Usually she will donate a piece of artwork. But the reality is, most of the time, the artwork sells for less than it costs to create, wrap and package.
Finally, we realized that there was a better model for raising money. Instead of exhaustive fundraisers, telethons or candy sales, groups and organizations can simply let people know about the art. Their supporters can purchase the art to help their organization and then split the profits. It's called "synergistic, or collaborative fundraising."
